Kent Training and Apprenticeships

We are a trusted and specialist provider of workforce development skills and Apprenticeships to public, private, not-for-profit and voluntary, and community sector organisations with over 30 years of experience.

Programmes have been designed with feedback from employers, young people, partner agencies and the organisation’s 30 years of experience in the field. We aim to ensure the offers are fit for purpose, meet ambitions and aspirations. They are constantly reviewed and quality assured.

We seek to Increase the number of Apprenticeships in Kent by:

  1. Working with employers to expand young peoples’ and adult opportunities in line with national and regional policy skill requirements.
  2. Building on our core expertise in foundation skills and ICT, to develop flexible training packages to meet client requirements.
  3. Establishing key partnerships, building relationships and improving our communication, to deliver and maintain good value, effective and high quality provision.

KT&A offers five Main Services:

KT&A-Boy-at-desk

Pathfinder – Pathfinder is a newly launched three step programme designed to help young people get used to the world of work and get the qualifications and skills needed to move forward. The 20 week introductory programme looks at identifying career choices, team building activities, interview skills, best practice for the workplace and a taster of work.

Work Ready – Our main offer is a Study Programme entitled Work Ready which offers unemployed young people a full-time opportunity comprising of a City and Guilds NVQ in Customer Service at Level 1 or Level 2, Functional Skills Entry 3 to Level 2. Funded through the Education Funding Agency (EFA), for young people aged 16-18 (up to age of 24 if they have a learning difficulty or disability evidenced by an Education Health and Care Plan).

Traineeships – Traineeships form a new offer which is an individualised programme lasting from 6 weeks to 6 months. The main aim is work experience backed up by employability and Functional Skills in English and maths. The participants are supported with a prospective employer to secure the skills required to enter sustainable employment
or an apprenticeship. Ten young people formed the first intake onto this programme in July 2015.

Apprenticeships  – We deliver training programmes funded by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) to young people aged 16 and upwards. The programme is a real alternative to sixth form or college. KT&A bits KT&A offer Apprenticeships across several industries including but not limited to: Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Customer Service, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, and Hospitality.

Work Based Training – If you are aged 19 or over and in employment, we can help you to gain qualifications and additional skills through work based training. KT&A offer training across several industry sectors.
