We seek to increase the number of Apprenticeships in Kent by:
- Working with employers to expand young people’s and adult opportunities in line with national and regional policy skill requirements.
- Building on our core expertise in foundation skills and ICT, to develop flexible training packages to meet client requirements.
- Establishing key partnerships, building relationships and improving our communication, to deliver and maintain good value, effective and high quality provision.
KT&A offers five main services:
Study Programme – Our Study Programme helps 16 to 18 year olds get ready for work and into the job they want. It includes up to 3 weeks of work placement to enable learners to gain evidence for a relevant qualification or work experience, and to improve their C.V. At the end of their training, learners have the work ethic, attitude and skills they need to get a job, an Apprenticeship or go on to further education.
We help Learners grow in self-confidence, explore the options available, acquire an understanding of the workplace and develop the behaviours and work ethic that employers expect. Learners leave ready for work with a relevant qualification, practical skills and Functional Skills or GCSEs in Maths and English to ensure they are much better prepared to hit the ground running on their first day at work.
KT&A Internships – Our KT&A Internships help those aged 16-24 (who may have learning difficulties or learning disabilities) to develop skills and experience in a working environment. This study programme is based mostly with an employer, providing support for the learner to gain paid employment, through a personalised study programme which may also include achieving the relevant qualifications and English and Maths.
Traineeships – A Traineeship is an education and training programme with work experience, focused on giving young people the skills and experience employers are looking for.
Traineeships can last up to 52 weeks and include:
- Work preparation training provided by the training organisation
- English and maths support if required, provided by the training organisation
- A high-quality work experience placement with an employer
In addition to these basic elements, you and the training provider can add flexible additional content to meet the needs of your business and the local labour market.
At the end of their Traineeship, each young person will be guaranteed a job interview if a role becomes available or exit interview and a reference from the company providing the work experience placement.
