Tunbridge Wells Mela Festival – Sunday 24th July 2022 Calverley Grounds
For the second time KAE attended the Tunbridge Wells Mela Festival which has been running for 16 years.
With over 1500 visitors to the festival on the day, the event boasted a packed on and off stage programme, showcasing culturally diverse art forms and acts including the Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band as well as Circus Raj, two acts that hailed from Rajasthan in India. The acts were particularly special in their originality and authenticity and festival attendees were particularly wowed by the performances.
Ebbsfleet Summer Fusion Festival – Saturday 30th July 2022 Platinum Jubilee Park
Over 1000 local residents attended the first ever Ebbsfleet Fusion Festival in July which was organised in partnership with Cohesion Plus, Ebbsfleet Development Corporation and Blueprint Arts. The community festival took place at Platinum Jubilee Park which was officially opened as part of the event. Crowds were entertained by Dhol Drumming, DDFK Brass and the Victory Sisters, Chinese Lions, magicians, stilt walkers and street dance acts.
Gravesham Pride – Saturday 13th August 2022 Fort Gardens
Gravesham Pride made history this year with their first Pride March through Gravesend town centre. The celebrations then continued with a programme of entertainment in Fort Gardens featuring a range of great acts.
Other events KAE attended included the Maidstone Community Mela on Sunday 11th September 2022 at Mote Park and the Canterbury Food Festival, from Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th September 2022 at the Dane John Gardens
