Health, Safety and Welfare
CLS is committed to promoting the health, safety and welfare of all customers, staff, learners and visitors. We provide a safe and supportive environment where health, safety and wellbeing are embedded into everyday practice and form an essential part of our induction and learning programmes.
The health, safety and welfare of our learners is a top priority. Learners, employers and partners all share responsibility for maintaining safe working environments. We carry out appropriate health and safety checks to ensure risks are effectively managed and safe arrangements are in place. Throughout their programme, learners gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to keep themselves and others safe. This includes understanding workplace expectations, identifying hazards, managing risk, reporting concerns and demonstrating safe and responsible behaviour.
Health, safety and wellbeing are reinforced through ongoing learning and support, enabling learners to apply their understanding in real-world settings. This helps build confidence, resilience and readiness for the workplace while promoting a positive culture of personal responsibility and safe practice.
By embedding health, safety and wellbeing into induction and learning, we add value to the learning experience and promote an environment where learners feel safe, supported and empowered.
If you would like to provide feedback or raise a health and safety concern while using our services, please contact us at CLSHealthandSafety@kent.gov.uk

Matrix Standard
The Matrix Standard is a framework which Community Learning and Skills use to assess and measure its information, advice and/or guidance services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals.
