Update on Kent Training and Apprenticeships (KT&A) Provision
Date Published: 17/06/2026
View all news storiesFollowing a strategic review, Kent Training and Apprenticeships (KT&A) is no longer operating as a delivery brand within Community Learning and Skills (CLS).
As part of this change, KT&A apprenticeship provision has closed, and the service is no longer delivering apprenticeship programmes or accepting new apprenticeship starts. This decision reflects changes in the wider apprenticeship landscape and has been taken carefully following careful and detailed consideration.
Apprenticeship provision
Although KT&A is no longer delivering apprenticeships, current apprentices and employers have continued to receive full support. Where appropriate, learners and employers have been guided through transition plans to ensure continuity of learning with minimal disruption.
Information for employers
Employers who are considering apprenticeship opportunities can access comprehensive support and guidance through national services, including GOV.UK - Employing an Apprentice Employing an apprentice: Overview - GOV.UK
These services enable employers to identify approved training providers and continue investing in workforce development.

Continuity of 16-18 provision: Introducing KAE Future Pathways
While apprenticeship delivery has ended, it is important to note that this closure applies to apprenticeships only. The following programmes previously delivered under KT&A are continuing and have transitioned to the Kent Adult Education (KAE) website under a new identity: KAE Future Pathways:
- Study Programmes
- Supported Internships
- Traineeships
- ESOL for 16-18 year olds
These programmes remain focused on supporting young people aged 16-18, or up to 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to develop skills, confidence and progression routes into further education or employment.
Delivery, learner support and programme quality continue as before, now aligned under Kent Adult Education
Looking ahead
The move to KAE Future Pathways brings these established programmes into the Kent Adult Education portfolio, making it easier for learners, families, partners and referrers to access information and support in one place.
We would like to thank employers, apprentices, learners, partners and stakeholders for their support and collaboration over the years. It has been a privilege to work with you and to support skills development across our communities.
